The Dire Need For an Enduring Change in Humanity: A Brief Look at the Root Cause of All Our Problems
Mankind is a relatively new and young species, yet we’ve established total dominion over the Earth in a relatively short time. This do in large part, to our three pound brain and its ability to “think” and use language.
Being a young species with this new ability, it would appear we don’t yet quite understand what it is, what it does, and how to properly use it. We appear to be incorrectly using thought through the process of objectifying ourselves via the creation of the mental self image “I”.
Thought appears to be for mentally focusing on what is immediately in front of us, and therefore be meant to correspond only to the fact of what is. “I” does not correspond to any fact of existence in that it cannot be pointed to like our bodies. Our bodies are more “real” than “I” is.
The act of residing inside of a non-fact appears to have the following effect:
This thought of a “self”, or “I” creates its negative or opposite in the form of “not self”, or “not I” as all thought concepts only exist as pairs of opposites.
The superficial mental division brought about by this concept then gives rise to “other”. Other intern gives rise to fear and desire because you have to have other things to be afraid of and to desire.
The objects of fear & desire come out of the field of “not I” and so come into existence at the same time as “I”. These objects of fear & desire, whatever they may be(fill in the blank), upon having been created also simultaneously create the opposites. We then spend our lives battling and in conflict with these opposites.
In the case of desire, we are forever involved in the process of having to suppress, deny, control, destroy, etc. its opposite, and in the case of fear, we are in conflict with fear itself, as it is a desire “away” from something occurring in the present, or a desire away from something occurring in an imagined future and towards some imagined “better” thing/situation/etc..
As long as we don’t see the mechanics behind what is happening with thought, as long as we are not understanding via direct examination and observation, we will continue to look to thought for a solution to our problems. The everlasting problems of insecurity.
As long as we continue to look to our thoughts to provide security, we can never see that it is the source of the insecurity. So we then find ourselves forever moving between the two poles of desire and fear as the “I”. Caught in the never ending grind of a vicious cycle of pleasure as desire fulfillment, and pain giving rise to fear and anxiety.
Once we can actually really see this movement alive in the present moment inside of us, observing how it works like we would observe, say, a wild animal, a miraculous transformation is then allowed to occur. A transformation mankind has never experienced. A true transformation in the form of the next step in our evolution as a species.
To see this whole movement gives birth to the awakening of intelligence for it is pure logical inference which anyone is capable of experiencing. It is akin to mathematics, the language of the cosmos and creation. And just as mathematics (as well as the cosmos) it belongs to no one, and so belongs to everyone.
Is any of this true?
Please examine this for yourself without any motive, for if you have a motive it will dictate the answer.
