The Self Appears To Exist Only In Comparison To ALL Other Selfs

The very notion of an individual and isolated “self” evaporates in the seeing of the fact that the self exists only in comparison, and comparison requires “other” selfs.

The continual act of comparison is itself, by its very nature, a divisive act as in order to compare anything there must be at least “two.” Therefore, the “I”, “me”, or “self” is only able to exist in contrast, relation, or relationship to ALL other “I’s”, or “selves”, and with ALL of life really. As it is the nature of thought to divide and create pairs of opposites, when the thought “I” is created, it also, automatically also creates its negative, or inverse as “not I”, and so creates “other.” So thought itself is an inherently naturally a superficially divisive phenomenon. The problem is that we are “mis-seeing” it, or mistaking the division as real.

The act of constantly recording life’s experience, recalling it, and comparing is ability to “think”. That is, this very process appears to be what thought actually is, how it’s actually occurring in us in this very moment. How it’s running, or moving right this very second.

The ability to “compare” requires the ability to “recall” or “know”. And so it appears that we know ourselves in terms of who and what we “think” we are not, just as much as in terms of who and what we “think” we are.

With this great super power of thought we “talking monkeys” are capable of many truly super things, but because we don’t yet understand its true nature, and what its effects are as we’re using it, it is also the source of many truly horrifying things as well.

With great power, comes great responsibility.

Please look at this for yourself.

Is any of this true?

Please look to see if you can see what is being point to here for yourself. Observe like a scientist, impartially. If you’re partial to something other than what it is you’re observing while you’re observing, then you’re probably not really observing, and if you’re not observing then you have no chance of “seeing” and then really changing.
