We Continue To Put Our “Faith” & “Hope” In Corrupt Systems & Institutions
Boy the anxiety permeating the air of late over the upcoming election sure is palpable. Will Trump somehow disrupt the postal service’s ability to handle voting by mail? Will the election somehow be compromised, contested, if not out-right thwarted?
Louis DeJoy: is Trump's new post office chief trying to rig the election?
About a month ago, a United States Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier named Mark arrived at his post office in central…
Rule #1 When Seeking To Avoid A Dictatorship: Don’t Invite Someone Into Power Who Can’t Let Go of…
Donald Trump is the embodiment of our culture coming back to haunt us.
What’s astounding is that our political system is obviously ripe and rampant with corruption, yet we still continue to have faith in the institution of voting, which is part of this same system. How can we still continue to have faith that “voting” will solve the “problem?” How is it that we can still put our trust in voting? How far, wide, and deep have the tendrils of corruption spread?
Have We Ever Wondered Why It Is That Our Systems Of “Law & Order” Never Really Seem To Work?
If we look closely we can see that our desires cause us to overstep the boundaries of law all the time.
We continue to “have faith” and “hope” in the political process. Perhaps it’s because the alternative is not at all pleasant because we’ve seen, and have been there before…, all out revolution. Indeed the prospect of a “revolution” is a bloody and violent one, and not one we’d like to repeat, however, repeat is exactly what we as humans do the world over. We see it pretty much constantly occurring in other countries around the world. Brutal, oppressive, authoritarian governments cracking down on its citizens, controlling, stifling, jailing, torturing, and murdering. It seems “freedom”, whatever exactly this is, is constantly under threat in one way or another, and seemingly now more than ever these days.
If we continue to observe and look, we should soon also see that corruption is ever-present within our “system” of money, trade, and commerce as well. It breeds all manner of waste, deceit, injury, death, and destruction. It seems the news of crimes and atrocities being committed by humans against other humans, and all life in the name of money just never ends. Yet we continue to believe money is the answer to all our problems. If we just had enough money, then things would really change. If you have enough money, then you can save the world, just ask Jeff Bezos. Again, we’re blind to the fact that money is causing the very problems it’s trying to solve.
As Long As Money Rules This World We Will Never Know True Security
The desire for money causes us to lie, cheat, steel, and kill. Where is the security in this?
Or, how bout another long held system and mode of conduct that has also amply proved its propensity for corruption, abuse, devastation, and destruction… religion. We continue to put our faith and hope in religion even though we’ve seen occurrence after occurrence of the institution’s corruption. Surely the examples are innumerable.
And then of course, there’s the perversion and corruption of science.
The fact of the matter is that just about anything can be made to serve the “I”.
There’s Nothing More Important Than the “I”
Why is that politics, power, racism, and xenophobia all trump the immediate needs dictated by the fact of the present…
Corruption appears to be like cancer in that it’s only concerned with itself, and will stop at nothing to consume more and more of its host until finally it has engulfed the whole body at which point both it, and the host, die.
We’ve just come to “accept”all this corruption as the “normal” way of life on this planet. And in our “acceptance” of this way of life, we are complicit in its continuation. By not digging, and discovering the root cause of these maladies we are implicitly accomplices in its continuance.
Thought Appears To Be “Infinitely Limited”
A collection of articles exploring the nature of thought.
What is it all these institutions and systems have in common? They appear to have in common the following:
- They are all created by us, humans, and therefore are our products of thought.
- They all involve power, and hence pleasure, and hence desire.
Our Addiction To Pleasure & Desire is Threatening Our Demise
Through The Constant Pursuit Of Pleasure We May Meet Our End
Therefore, in order to understand why it is we humans continue to engage in what are obviously ineffective, and in many cases, destructive behavior, we must first understand what desire is.
Desire & Fear — Two Sides Of The Same Coin
Collection of articles that discuss “desire” to some degree.
When we desire anything, depending on how bad we desire it, we will do pretty much anything to get it, just like a drug addict/junkie. Therefore, when we base any of our systems, institutions, or organizations on anything that has the potential, or probability of generating desire in us, we are pretty much guaranteeing that these things will become corrupt. Desire breeds corruption.
Once this is seen, the next issue then becomes, how to then stop, or “get rid of” desire?
And here in lies the problem.
Look very closely and carefully at this.
What in effect is now happening in us, is that we are actually “desiring” to not have desire. So we are in effect still engaging in desire to rid ourselves of the problem of desire!
So then one might ask… so then what? What do we do? How do we resolve and overcome this conundrum?
This is where the truly revolutionary transformation occurs in humanity.
Nothing is required to overcome this problem except to look, see, and acknowledge it. To understand it. The seeing is the doing. The seeing is the action. The seeing, brings about awareness, and the awareness brings about a transformation in our consciousness unlike anything that has ever occurred before on this planet.
The only appropriate action is “no action”, and as “no action”, due to the law of opposites, is therefore also simultaneously “ALL action”, and therefore wholly appropriate in any, every, and all circumstances. This awareness, that is the result of our seeing, then effortlessly guides us along like the wind guides a sale boat.
We continue to struggle on this planet. We continue to live with the tremendous burdons of sorrow, anxiety, fear, guilt, depression, violence, brutality, confusion, and conflict. And we continue to employ the same, ineffective methods in an effort to overcome these burdons.
Perhaps now is the time for something totally new and radical? Perhaps now is the time for a radical “inner” revolution, a radical transformation in our consciousness?
How much more of the same, repetitive, destructive behavior will we need to endure to only wind up at this point anyway? How long will we have to travel in a particular direction only to eventually realize it is the wrong direction? Why not realize right now and move in a new direction, a new dimension…, right now?
Is any of this true?
Please look to see if you can see what is being point to here for yourself. Observe like a scientist, impartially. If you’re partial to something other than what it is you’re observing while you’re observing, then you’re probably not really observing, and if you’re not observing then you have no chance of “seeing” and then really changing.
